  1. I have a different question. I am getting IMSS through a lawyer as an employee. I have no idea what he is paying but wants another 30,000 pesos for this year after paying him the 30000 for this year, last year. I do have the paperwork which seems legit but 60,000 a year seems excessive per year. I cant believe he is paying that much. Does any expat working here with IMSS have an idea what is the highest one should be paying. I am 76 in good health. My bas salary is 202.54.
  2. i am negotiating over a purchase for a house in Nuevo Chapala and have been told by a neighbor that a fault line runs under the house and has caused cracking which needed to be repaired. Is there any way I can discern through third party how serious this is?
  3. Furry friends did a good job on my cat but I saw they put a heavy chain around her neck.
  4. I used Scott Granville of Taxes In Mexico for eleven years and he always needed to contact my banker to make sure the money was available in the bank for the IRS. Well last year he got lazy and I believe had an assistant do the work and I was penalized by the government for not having the funds in the bank. I had even put my banker's name and number on the folder when I submitted the taxes to make sure he remembered to contact my banker. I then told Scott that I would deduct the penalty from his fee which was only a few hundred but I was furious after 11 years of having his company do my taxes. Well he dropped me like a brick and said he did not want my business. Eleven years of loyalty and he treated me terribly so I am switching to another. Scott is hardly invested since he comes from Guadalajara only once a week and obviously has his assistants do the work.
  5. I used to buy it in Super Lake very cheap but they are not stocking it anymore. Does anyone know where to find it?
  6. About 4 months ago, we adopted a very friendly affectionate kitten from the shelter next to Ladron and from the beginning she has been spotting from the anus. After going to the vet next to Soriana and having a multitude of tests plus altrasound testing some of which required a specialist which revealed nothing, we had her put on a special diet for digestion and she is still spotting after 2 months to the point we need to put her down or give her away. Any suggestions before we do this which would break my heart. Yes the anal glands have been expressed.
  7. I will probable be thrown from the group but I think a possible threat poses a position more ethical. SEVEN SPANISH ANGLES LEGAL TEAM is a scam and even Guadalajare Reporter has banned advertisements from this company. They rent cars, wills everything to make you feel comfortable moving to Ajijic but other reputable lawyers will give you reasons not to deal with them.
  8. We have tried to contact segurosusa using Mexican and US system of calling and cannot get through to them at all.
  9. Dr. Hector Miramontes was an excellent surgeon in Guadalajara. He passed away in January. Many adverts are out there not revealing this and you are directed to a coordinator who is an ex-pat. I feel this is misleading since you are directed by phone or email to the coordinator who has no replacement, no medical training or idea as to who you should see if you have any problems as I did recently unless it is a regular doctor of your own choosing.
  10. You mentioned in a 2016 post that you knew someone for counseling.  I need someone in Chapala for OCD counseling.  If you know someone, please PM me.

  11. Can you elaborate on what my issue may be?  I had a lab test the water and it is 6.5.   Ron of solar technology seems to think it is the manifold inside the tank.   My neighbor has a similar system also 2 years old and no problems.  Plus I have never obtained the so called "hot water".   It is always lukewarm, never hot.  My warranty covers the tank, frame and tubes but another warranty sent to me states "the warranty is void if the water is under 6.5.  That is what they are claiming to avoid any further service.

  12. My experience with Thermosol with tubular solar hot water system was far from good. I live in Upper Ajijic and within a year the condenser tubes within the outer tubes that attach to the tank corroded causing leakage and a big mess. 3 times they came out to replace the tubes and then told me it was my fault because my water was too acidic. They never tested my water beforehand and refused after 2 years to do anymore maintenance. Granted they say they will pay me half and take out the system but they never tested the water beforehand and their warranty which they did not give me in the beginning but later emailed me, stated the warranty was void if the water was acidic. They tested it later and it was 6.3, 6.4. I do not want to bad mouth the company but people should be warned. They were professional and courteous but do have a water-test done before putting in a tubular system and perhaps a flat panel system if the same goes for that system.
  13. I taught along with several Us and Canadian RNs a program for health care aides last year. All students were bi lingual.  I would like to suggest Martin Meza.  He is very responsible, has experience and own transportation.
