  1. Are you using it to transfer from a CDN bank to a MX bank? I'm using Wise now and if it's cheaper to use XE will change over to them. Thanks
  2. That could end up being very expensive, though.
  3. Will look into it. Thanks
  4. What do you do for health insurance when you go for a visit? Thanks
  5. Ay ay ay!!! Thank you for your informative post. I was feeling better because several people said they have bank accounts in Canada while being non-residents, but I wonder if any of them filled out that declaration form. I confirmed that I have to change banks because one has to live in Alberta to have an ATB account. The information on ATB's website says to talk to a qualified tax professional if I'm unsure. Is that who you mean by someone qualified with Canadian law and government policy? Thanks
  6. Have any of you had to fill out the tax residency declaration form? My income is only from Canada - CPP, etc. I fill out and send in the non-resident tax form, paying any taxes I owe to CRA. Wondering if my tax residency is Canada...? So confusing!
  7. So, when you need a new debit or credit card, do they FedEx them to you?
  8. Thanks for your replies. I'm glad to hear there are options.
  9. I didn't know where to post this. I just received an email from Alberta Treasury Branch asking that I complete a tax residency declaration form in order to keep my account in good standing. I'm a little worried they'll say I can't have an account with them since I live in Mexico. (I've been using a friend's address in Alberta as a mailing address.) Does anyone here have a Canadian Bank Account as a non-resident of Canada? If so, which bank, please and thanks?
  10. I've never ordered from Temu. What kinds of things are good to buy from them? Thanks
  11. What I see according to the posted law is the following. The double pay is if they work on the holiday: regular pay for the day + double pay for working.
