I guess you are still waiting for an answer to your question? “examplesof the cost of major surgery. Eg. Knee replacement, heart procedures, cancer etc.” I had 2 surgeries in Mexico. I had a cervical disc replacement at San Francisco de Asis hospital in Guadalajara. It was done through a local clinic in San Antonio that billed my U.S. insurance company $45,000 USD. The procedure was successful and I did not pay anything out of pocket, however, my insurance company issued a fraud investigation due to over billing. I discovered that the procedure actually cost $15,000 usd and the clinic pocketed $30,000 usd. I no longer have any dealings with the clinic or the doctor that runs it. I also had gastric bypass surgery at Hospital Country 2000. I paid $6,500 USD out of pocket. No insurance. That’s all I have. I hope it helps.

Spencer, have you considered hosting an educational seminar? Your document is top notch and looks like it could be used in a seminar. I would be willing to pay to attend an educational seminar on Jalisco traffic & criminal laws and procedures for English speaking civilians. Something that would supplement your document and would be geared to the layperson. I am not sure if there has ever been such an event or if one currently exists. Maybe there would be others that would be interested in attending? Just an idea.

Our shipping container home is complete and we are all moved in. You can see our progress on Facebook page DIY Shipping Container Home Group. Total cost was under $400,000 MXN for two side by side 16' containers.

There are some places in Guadalajara. One of them is Underbox, which I had visited, but they were very expensive. They want $25,000 USD for ONE 40 foot container. I spent less than that on two - 40 footers. Granted they were used containers, but they did the trick.
I understand that if you have something built here at Roca Azul, they can coordinate the building to your specs and you just pay rent on your lot, about $4,500 pesos a month. And I would bet that you would spend much less than the $25k usd.
