Seeking a large quantity of US or Canadian pennies 1¢

12 June 2013 - 09:44 AM

I'm planning on doing a kitchen backsplash with pennies.

I will do just a strip of the coins and the rest of the backsplash with tiles because it would be too much labour to do it all with pennies.

Please let me know if you have any you want to sell, at cost of course.  I want to avoid bringing a bunch from Canada.

Question: What Mexican coins are bronze colour?  I only see the 50¢ coin.  Is there a smaller denomination Mexican coin in bronze colour?

Thanks

Which market to sell my wares

09 May 2013 - 05:29 PM

I paint glassware: platters, bowls, glasses, etc.

I was wondering which market would be best to sell my wares at.

What is the cost to rent a table?

Do you have to sign to rent a table for a period of time?

Thanks for your input.

Here is an example of my work:

How long did it take to get a response from Consulate in Canada

26 April 2013 - 03:10 PM

The Mexican Consulates in Canada indicate it takes 2-3 days to respond to a Visa Application from a Canadian.

For us, it's been 5 days and no word.  Yes, I know it's Mexico and I need to be patient.

I e-mailed the application and all supporting documentation on April 21, 2013.

I called the lady with whom I had communication beforehand to be assured she received my e-mail and she advised she did.

We're dealing with the Montreal Consulate.

How long did it take other Canadians to get a response, obviously since November 2012 with the new regulations?

Crossing into Mexico with an enclosed cargo utility trailer

22 April 2013 - 04:11 AM

After getting quotes of $12,000 Canadian for shipping just "stuff" (no furniture) from Eastern Canada to Mexico, we decided we would have to take the reigns into our own hands.

We're seriously thinking of buying an enclosed cargo utility trailer in Canada and hauling it down with our SUV.

Hubby will drive it and I will fly down.  The plan is to bring both the SUV and the trailer back to Canada about 10 months later, sell both in Canada, fly back down to Mexico and buy a new car.  Hubby will be Temporal and I will be Permanente; we're hoping to get our Visas this week.  Hubby will then switch over to Permanente.

We're looking for stories of your such experience, particularly at the border.

Which Custom Broker did you hire?

Did Customs give you a hard time.

This will be a Laredo crossing.

I did read the posts on here: http://www.chapala.c...tility +trailer which has given me some guidance.

Gracias for your input.

Need Vet hospital contact information

16 April 2013 - 08:08 PM

I'm gathering contact info and I'm missing one for vet hospital.

Is there a vet hospital that is open 24/7 Lakeside?

Thank goodness there is no need now but I'd rather be prepared.
