Many things in Mexico are much cheaper because it is a low liabilty country. You need to take care of yourself (it's not my problem it's your problem) because no official organization is liable therefore your experience is a classic low liability country outcome. OXXO had it mixed in with so many TelCel options on the store's screen I gave up paying there because most of the time they insisted the only Amigo pay as you go available now was the 15 day one with some "datos moviles" no matter what I said. My wife finally got mad I bitched about it so often she went to TelCel and signed me up with a plan for 2 gigs of data and turned off my non smart phone. Gave me her old smart phone. Geesh!
