  1. Fines for federal offences are a multiple of the Mexico City's minumum wage. If it was $500.00 pesos 6 years ago it is now $500.00×4 (113%)= $2,000.00 +. "1,702.00 pesos (for INM to do a review of your case). Between 2078.00 – 4150.00 pesos (Fine for overstaying your FMM visa, depending on number of days beyond your expired visa) https://www.movetomexicoguide.com › ... Fees Payable to Mexican Immigration (INM) in 2024
  2. What are the addresses on the 3 bills. All the same address? I know if you can get 2 addresses on the same lot from the "Registro Civil" the adresseses will be 123 and 123A. CFE might not need the "Registro Civil" document to put in 2 meters. My friend had a 2nd. meter installed when he built an apartment onto his mother's house. He had to show a separate meter box with an approved pole on an approved cement block mini-wall next to the sidewalk locatrd in a specific position on the lot, wiring only going to his apartment. His apartment needed to have a bathroom and kitchen and 13 years ago paid CFE $5,800 pesos. He didn't need anything from the city. If you have 2 meters as such one to the house and one to the casita possibly it is legal and CFE is only busting them now for not following the rules that have changed.
  3. This low liability mindset is in government policies also: This is what OXXO had to deal with this month: Selected paragraphs demonstrsting clearly the "It's not my problem, it's your problem." In other words take care of yourself because I'm not liable. "The problem came to a head when the Femsa corporation, which operates Oxxo, Mexico’s largest chain of convenience stores, announced late last week that it was closing all of its 191 stores and seven gas stations in another border city, Nuevo Laredo, because of gang problems. The company said it had long had to deal with cartel demands that its gas stations buy their fuel from certain distributors. But the straw that broke the camel’s back came in recent weeks when gang members abducted two store employees, demanding they act as lookouts or provide information to the gang. On Wednesday, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador — whose policy is to avoid confronting the cartels — displayed the recommendations authorities had made to Femsa in a meeting Monday. Those recommendations largely placed responsibility on the company, asking it to hire in-store security guards, install panic buttons and place cameras outside the stores." https://www.yahoo.com/news/extortion-gang-violence-hitting-even-130146642.html
  4. Many things in Mexico are much cheaper because it is a low liabilty country. You need to take care of yourself (it's not my problem it's your problem) because no official organization is liable therefore your experience is a classic low liability country outcome. Chalk it up to a learning experience and enjoy all the cheaper stuff you get regularly.
  5. IMSS ambulances transport sick patients from rural areas to city hospitals. They might also transport them back to the rural area. Funeral homes in the small town might not be able to go to the city to do it.
  6. I was in the same frame of mind as you are now however my wife rearranged me the way she liked. I had no choice nor willpower. As I said previously; I am not proud of it. 😐
  7. It never occured to me how to solve the problem OXXO had getting to the 30 day Amigo pay as you go with no mobile data icon to process my request so I only would have 30 days of cell phone use. I was extremely glad I finally got a smart phone back then. I was holding out because I saw how addicted many people were becoming to constant 24 hour internet access wherever they were. Just like I became - the same as everyone else. I am not proud of it. 😣
  8. Yeah, right. 🐂 https://www.forbes.com/advisor/health-insurance/how-much-does-health-insurance-cost/
  9. OXXO had it mixed in with so many TelCel options on the store's screen I gave up paying there because most of the time they insisted the only Amigo pay as you go available now was the 15 day one with some "datos moviles" no matter what I said. My wife finally got mad I bitched about it so often she went to TelCel and signed me up with a plan for 2 gigs of data and turned off my non smart phone. Gave me her old smart phone. Geesh!
  10. We socialize with and my wife's family has IMSS Drs.. I know 2 additional reasons apart from those you listed. One is many have a sense of paying back their free university the state gave them and correlates to socialistic ideals they learnt since children in school. The other is free recertification and updated training which is very easy if you work for IMSS, ISSSTE, Military or Pemex health services and no need to do it yourself to not fall behind new medicines, diagnostics and procedures. Private practice specialists might not do this unless they are top notch in their area.
  11. It is mostly employers paying employees' and their immediate families' health insurance and individuals paying their and their own familes health insurance. It has nothing to do with welfare. Welfare in Mexico doesn't equate to welfare NOB. IMSS is called social security by Mexicans and if your employer and you paid into it, when you are 60 or whatever the formula is now and stop working you get a pension and continue the health care service part also. ISSSTE is the same but only for federal government employees. Healthcare and pension.
  12. IMSS will exclude you from joining for some chronic diseases. They have a 6 month, 1 year , 2 year and 3 year waiting period on other chronic diseases and treatments and operations needed, It depends on what condition you are in when applying. From the IMSS website: Exclusions to join, Google Translation: "• not subject to insurance people who have: malignant tumors, chronic degenerative diseases (late complications of diabetes mellitus), diseases: Hoarding (Gaucher disease), chronic liver disease, kidney failure: • Some pre-existing, such as illness chronic valvular heart disease, heart failure, sequelae of ischemic heart disease (arrhythmia, angina or myocardial infarction), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with respiratory failure, among others • chronic systemic connective tissue diseases, addictions like alcoholism and other substance abuse, mental disorders such as psychosis and dementia; congenital and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or Human Immunodeficiency Virus positive of diseases (HIV)" Asegura a tu familia para que puedan recibir servicios médicos en el IMSS. It also states there is a minmum of 2 family members to join
  13. You have the form with the purple stamp. By any chance is that the form you filled out and signed at the airport ADUANA office which the official HAS to send to a specific address in CDMX for ADUANA to not take your deposit because the 30 day "canje" FMM expired - they wait 15 days from that date to take deposits. Is it possible all that office knows is your form proving you have a new extended "Condición de Estancia Migratoria" did not arrive there and automatically they kept your deposit? E- mailing them the scanned stamped/dated form after the fact might not be sufficient at this point.
  14. Did the ADUANA official at the Guadalajara airport give you a form to fill out and sign and then keep it to send to their CDMX office called: Aviso de renovación o canje de condición de estancia, a efectivo de no se haga efectiva la garantía constituida por la importación temporal de vehículos ? If not don't expect a refund. You might need this form also: depends: Condición de Estancia Migratoria
  15. He leaves office the first week of Sept.. The 2024 budget is set and nothing will change now or maybe ever. No improvements in the future are forcast only more of the same.
