In Topic: anyone using sling box for sat t.v. via their internet?

19 February 2013 - 06:58 PM

We have a SlingBox.  It works quite well in most cases.  We have it hooked up in Dallas where we have very fast internet speeds.  We have found that it works well here in SD (standard non HD mode).  The download speed in Ajijic is not fast enough for HD programming.  Using HD we only get sound and no picture.  It is available everywhere $179.00 for the lesser model and $299.00 for the 500 model.  We found it was the same price where ever you shop.  We have the 500 model.  You will need someone that will be availabe to help if things go down at the SlingBox location.  If we change the channel in Ajijic it also changes the channel where ever your SlingBox is located.  It needs it's own cable box if it is in a friends or relatives house.

In Topic: Wanted, Hot Tub

29 January 2013 - 01:36 PM

We just bought a house in Ajijic.  The house came with a hot tub that we do not want.  I know nothing about it at this point.  The house was built in 2007 and I suspect it is about the same age.  I do not know even if it works it has been drained for months if not years.  The interior is mauve in color the exterior is tan resin.  It appears to be a 6 man tub.  If you are interested it is yours if you remove it from our property.  I was told it weighs about 800 lbs. empty.  If you are interested p.m. me.

Thanks

In Topic: Vonage vs. MagicJack Plus

You might want to check out Ooma.  We use our Dallas address and pay $4.83 U.S. per month.  It is based on your local tax rate.  We have unbelievable clarity our friends NOB can't beleive we are calling from Ajijic.  It will even text you when you have a message.  We have friends with Vonage and Magic Jack and they really seem to depend on your internet connection and speed.  This will give you another option.  They are available at Costco and are on sale now in the U.S.  Good luck on your trip.

In Topic: View CFE statement online

CFE will only accept Mexican credit cards. If you use one from the U.S. it will say the charge is denied. I have not found a way to pay our bill when we are NOB online. We have a nice neighbor that takes care of it for us. If anyone knows how to pay online with a U.S. credit card that would be useful information.

He is not MISSING! He moved to a beautiful new state of the art office in Riberas. Sorry I do not have the address.
