In Topic: A FM3 visa question
05 May 2012 - 11:42 PM
Sounds good everyone. My hubby was under the impression that it would be difficult to bring a car load of stuff in with only a tourist visa. Sounds like it will be fine. Has anyone shipped their household stuff(small things) via mail if it wont' all fit in the car? Or is it better to get a small storage and go back over the border and bring another car load later? Any suggestions?

Thank you everyone for your help. I am thinking that we may just wait until we get there. Seems everyone agrees that it is easier. I was just trying to get some things taken care of here if we could. also wanted to be able to bring a car load of some personal and household goods over the border. Will I still be able to do that with just a tourist visa? Or would it be better to come in having got a small storage unit near the border and just go back and bring our personal stuff later. We aren't bringing any furniture.

Awesome!! Now it is even more difficult to wait for our move date to come. My dog and I are going to be making good use of the agility equipment!

thanks everyone for your input. I was wondering if she would have to be 18 no matter what there. I figured if nothing else it would be impossible to get insurance on her because the legal age there is 18. actually that works for me. I will feel better with her not driving until then. It gives her time to know the area, learn more spanish and more about the customs of the country before she is faced with a possible difficult situation. She will just have to depend on mom and dad or the bus!

I do understand everyone's concern about her age. Her dad and I will be driving with her for a long time even if her license is legal there for all of the above reasons, and more. I just wanted to know if she can legally drive with a license from here. In time as she approaches 18 and has had almost two years of driving there with us, we would probably let her drive alone. But, just thought I would find out the legality of her driving. She has her license here, and we still don't let her drive alone yet. She just needs more experience, so I am sure not turning her lose down there at this age!
