And how about in reverse:  I just became Permanente, and my husband is still Temporal.  The car was imported in my name but I can't make the trip to get it out of the country for a few months.  Can my husband drive it in the meantime?

What wonderful news, for all of us!  I'm so very glad that Richard's surgery was successful and he is well on the road to recovery.  I look forward to joining you again for dinner when your re-open -- both because it is a terrific dining experience for us and also because I know it is fulfillment of a dream you and Richard have shared for years.  I wish you continued healing and success.

Thanks for the info.  This really helps to know ahead of time.  Seems like turnaround time here is even faster than what they promise in the States.

The U.S.consulate is at LCS the first Wednesday of every month (May 8th this coming month since May 1 is a Mexican holiday).
Allow 30 days and you can pick it up at LCS the following month.
Signup list is available at 10 a.m. and the consulate arrives at 10:20 or so and stays until done.

They don't take U.S. cash or checks or pesos. If you need the whole procedure, post again and I'll give additional info.

I've got to renew soon and would very much appreciate you posting the whole procedure -- Cost, paperwork to bring, etc.  Is it pretty dependable that they get the new one back to you the following month?
