Phoebe has gone off to the States to attend to some family business and a much-needed break. She may be gone for much of the summer but when she comes back I believe her plan is to go back to real estate more-or-less full time. I think she would love to retire "in theory", but knowing Phoebe I bet she won't!

My Motorola Xoom utterly, totally crashed awhile back and I ended up sending it back to the States for repair because I had purchased an "international" maintenance warranty (from Best Buy) with it. I only had to pay to get it back there, everything else was covered. They fixed it perfectly and I had it back via Fedex in a few days. So if you want to stick with Android, either get it at a place like Best Buy in GDL so you have a Mexican one and they will fix it for you in GDL, or if you want to save a bundle and bring it down from the U.S., take a look at one of those warranty things. The U.S. maintenance plans are completely different from the Mexican ones, no matter what they tell you. I did try taking my bricked Xoom to GDL to Best Buy and they would have happily repaired it, but charged me full tilt retail for the repair. When I got in touch with the international warranty people, they sent me a mailing box and clear instructions and it was relatively simple to get it fixed and have it sent back here.

Maybe try taking it to the repair department/Geek Squad at Best Buy?

Just for curiosity, how many meters IS it from end to end of the tianguis? What's the "fundraising goal"?
