  1. The original chapalaweather station came online in October 2007 and remained for 10 years counting the days, the rain, the dry, the hot and cold. It's moved on to become bdamweather.com in the Hill Country of Texas at Lake Buchanan. I go to the lake almost every day and remember the good times at Lake Chapala and Riberas. Max the weather cat, now 21 years old, and I record and report as best we can the conditions from our weather shack here. We don't enjoy the mild weather of Chapala, we vary from below zero and ice storms to 110 in the shade with heat index's above that. We enjoyed our years and friends at the Lake and remember our time there as the great adventure, unplanned as it was.
  2. Yeah, my lake Buchanan is down 12' and Travis is down 44' so it's a bit dry. It's so dry the mosquitos are buying bottled water to breed in?
  3. It's toasty in Texas also. I remember the good old days in Riberas when it only got to 90 once in a while. Up here I hit 114 the other day showing a heat index of 121. It's 80 when I get up in the morning. The high pressure dome is moving so it should drop into the 90's next week.
  4. I'm late to the topic, but yes, we still fish etc up there in TX. I was by the Lake today and there were at least a dozen bass boat trailers in the launch parking area. Yesterday I was in Lowes, Home Depot and Autozone, they were glad to see me (or my money). Last week I saw a flight of pelicans spending a bit of time on the Lake before heading on N to Alberta. Life goes on. In my county which is 966 sq miles with 22K people we have 3 reported cases, we don't see the problem.
  5. Hi Pete,

Just a note to say thanks for all your support over the years, Max and I won't forget. Spencer and I tried, but he has a career and being a weather guy doesn't fit in. We'll run the station to the end of the month and then pull the plug one final time. It's sad, but all things begin and end.

    Thanks again,

    Steve and Max the WeatherCat

  6. Hi, I own Quinta del Sol at 29 Independencia, about a block from Barbara's Bazar. Our summer rate with breakfast for 2 is $80 USD. We are full service, pool, private terraces in the garden etc. There are many , some cheaper, some more with different amenities. Glad to have you stop by to see our place. Eleanor 766-0926
