My spanish isn't very good but I thought the guy at the cell phone company said that if someone called my Cell Phone FROM Canada, there is no charge to me or to the person calling?  Can this be right or have I totally misunderstood???  Thanks.

Gifts for Children - suggestions?

15 December 2012 - 08:37 AM

Looking to bring gifts from NOB for 4 Mexican Children - need suggestions.  Girls ages 9 and 10 and two boys ages 6 and 8.  Want to bring something not too heavy as we will be travelling for a month before coming.  Thought about pj's but not sure if these are big kids or not.  We've never met them.  Any suggestions?

PLEASE - a plea to ALL dog owners

17 August 2012 - 03:05 PM

We all know by now about the awful story of the six dogs whose owner unexpectedly passed away and left behind her dogs.  I am sure she loved her dogs very much and would be heartbroken to hear how close they came to being killed in a cruel way.  This shows how defenseless dogs can be if left by loving owners who have not thought about what would happen to their dogs should the unforeseen happen.  Please make this be your wake up call - plan now for your dogs in case you can no longer look after them.  So many animal loving people at Lakeside have multiple dogs - what happens if you die?  What happens if you're incapacitated for a long period of time? What happens if you're in a car accident? What happens if you have to suddenly leave?  Please folks, make your plans now for your animals - don't have your precious pets put in a position such as this poor woman's dogs were.

Bus Safety Ideas

17 July 2012 - 04:10 PM

With recent robberies on buses in Mexico I was wondering how people on this board handle bus travel. Do you put your valuables under the bus in checked luggage? What about cash, credit cards, passports? I know no one in their right minds would have jewellry but what about other valuables? Do you carry fake "stuff" - old passports, credit cards?? Would like any tips for what to do if confronted by a robbery on the bus. I've also heard it's best to sit at the front of the bus - perhaps because the robbers start at the back and work forward?? Thanks for your ideas.
