  1. No, you are allowed up to 6 recivers on the same acount but you have to buy them at $150 US a pop and somehow get them shipped here from Florida. There is no rental option. Then each 6 months, you prepay your subscription fee (based on the number of receivers you have) in advance.
  2. You need a receiver for each TV. One of my friends who is using Kiwisat does have a spliiter of some sort to send a signal to 2 TV's but he has to control the channels from the one Kiwisat receiver. I assume he is splitting the HDMI output from the receiver but I have not looked at it. It was installed by Ajijic Electronics. There is no sub for this receiver, the firmware is proprietary to Kiwisat.
  3. Working just fine for me. I lost one of my receivers during an electrical storm but am getting along fine with only one now. I suggest installing a good quality, grounded lightning arrestor on the coax lead-in coming from the roof to the set top.
  4. I think you mean moving a little "west". Their sign says 250 mtrs.
  5. The F1 events are carried by ESPN and Kiwisat has ESPN HD, ESPN NEWS HD, ESPN U HD, ESPN 2 HD as well as ESPN DESPORTES (Espanol) but not ESPN 3. For 2026, F1 has sold the broadcast rights to Apple TV so may no longer be carried on Kiwisat except for the ABC broadcasts of the US events?
  6. Kiwisat is working fine. I have not lost any feed (yet) during the recent weather events. Still has some minor issues from time to time with picture and audio falling out of sync but that I think is a receiver trait. It can be corrected by switching to another channel and back again so it re-syncs. I use it mainly to record live sporting events (particular F1 races) so I can watch them at a more reasonable time and at my convenience. I also watch lots of non-US based news broadcasts so I get less of the US political BS.
  7. Pretty much basura here in Mexico. The larger round former Dish antennas can be reused with new LNB's to receive Kiwisat signals here.
  8. I have only bought it in 14 cu. mtr. dump truck loads from a hauler in Atequiza. I think he said he gets it from a supplier somewhere around El Salto. I would think any of the local construction guys should know where you could get a cu. mtr. or two from. Perhaps try Construrama Las Redes in Chapala on Pepe Guizar?
  9. Most of the ready mix suppliers do not use river sand (arena rio) but a product called "despolvo" which is a byproduct of the stone crushing operation. It is a sand-like material of fine stone particles. I use this to mix the mezcla used for wall repair work and it is far less hydroscopic than arena rio as it contains no soil. Far less chance of ever developing salitre and it is far stronger.
  10. I would expect that the Trump tariffs will have little impact on the price of IKEA items since very little of their inventory would come into and then out of the US. I would expect that most of IKEA's inventory is direct shipped into Mexico from European countries of origin. Note: I had the meatballs while there and they were the worst I have ever has. Tastelss and mushy. Couldn't tell if they were made out of meat or soybean meal.
  11. Just visited the new IKEA in GDL yesterday to check it out. Had lunch at their foof court while there. YUCK. Food was just awful - not like the NOB locations.
  12. Well, we just renewed for another 6 mo. period. I don't watch any US stations (too much politics) but as far as I know they are all there - it is a Florida based outfit that uses Las Vegas, NV as a ground station site. All the US networks are there through their South Florida affiliates. There are a lot of the popular specialty channels but I watch only HGTV and the Magnolia Network - some Motortrend programs. I mainly have it to get international live news from BBC and CNN International. I am an avid F1 watcher which is available on the ESPN lineup they have. Lot of movie channels but I don't watch them - prefer Netflix & Prime via subscriptions. I am tending to watch more and more Youtube channels - the CBC National live broadcasts or there to stay abreast of what is happening back in Canada. It has been very reliable so far - just tonight I lost signal for the first time I can recall as the rain storm passed through - but only for about 5 minutes. It is not on par with Shaw Direct only because they use cheap Chinese made receivers that have awkward menus/software. Not near the features of an Arris receiver but they are also far less expensive. The record/playback features are not very user friendly or flexible since there is only one receiver (can't record at the same time you want to watch a different channel) but now that I am well versed in it - acceptable. Overall, I am pleased with it since it is affordable and meets all my needs.
  13. After 13 years it may be time for a whole new unit. If new filters have been tried, perhaps the membrane is clogged?? I am sorry but I don't know of any good water techs.
  14. I use Netflix and my internet connection to access it is via Telmex DSL if that is what you mean. I use a Roku box to interface the internet to my dumb TV. My download speed is only around 3.0 mbps and upload around 0.2 mbps but seems to work fine with no buffering. My subscription though is directly with Netflix MX and not through my Telmex account.
  15. OK thanks. Do you know of another distributor for Syscom other than Cyberpuerta/Abasteo?
