I think you are correct about the car business, but he is a wonderful tour guide.I think he's out of the car transport business now that he had two establishments to run, but I'll let him tell you for sure.

Totally agree with you. I have seen little of what was described. Of course it happens, but people who abuse the locals are in a minute minority.Interesting comments from one who's only visited. However, the views of the non-resident OP are not shared by most residents. Most foreigners living here OVERPAY their maids and gardeners, not exploit them. Wages in this area are higher than in Guadalajara. Further, the robbery and break-rates here are no higher than other places in Mexico, e.g. Guadalajara, and these crimes are committed equally against Mexicans and Foreigners. We have many Mexican friends, several college educated professionals, and some working class. We see no "seething rage" amongst them. The majority of homes in this area are owned by Mexicans, not foreigners. FYI, the foreign population makes up less than 10% of those living between Chapala and Jocotepec.

Contact www.pvrpv.com as they are the biggest rental company there and well organised.Seeking a place to stay with my two small dogs, for a few days after Christmas, in or near PV. I have looked at Gringo Petsite for hotels. Does anyone have any other ideas? Know of a place? Thanks!
