Notices for Jeanne Chaussee columns - major problem

17 September 2012 - 06:14 PM

This is to let folks know that Jeanne Chaussee at this time, and actually for several days now,
has had no phone or Internet.

This lack of access for  communications has created it impossible for her to  work and receive notices / announcements from people wanting to post announcements in her Guad Reporter columns.

Telmex promised they would fix the problem by the end of the day today -  it has not occurred.
As you may know she works against a weekly deadline to submit those announcements for publication each week.

To help deal with this lack of phone/Internet access and get notices published for this week's
Guad Reporter of  Sept. 21st.   in  Jeanne's columns,
please send your notices for Jeanne to the following e-address:
jjkellum@yahoo.com
They will be delivered to Jeanne so they can be put in her columns.
Please put in the e-mail subject title: for Jeanne .. so they can be processed quickly.

If you have already submitted your notice, please submit it again at the above e-address..
the notice  you have already sent   is floating out there in space, and can not be accessed.

Please let your friends know about this problem, especially if they usually send
notices for Jeanne's column ...  possibly put  a notice on other weboards..
Jeanne does not want to miss anyone's  announcements .

Jeanne is fine, but very frustarted with  modern technology, in particular Telmex.
IF a miracle occurs and she gets her Internet again, I will do  follow-up  posting

Thanks for your help !

Ernesto is coming-we hope

06 August 2012 - 10:40 AM

Over on the other ocean, a tropical storm is bearing down on the Yucatan area.  It should hit them on Thursday.  The Hurricane folks say it will get stronger once it gets past and hits the warmer water in the Gulf.  Then the track curves and comes on land. It's forecast to come right over us.  By then they THINK it will be a full hurricane.  Of course, the mountains will break it up, but the rain will keep coming.  This happened my first or second year here (can't remember which-senior moment) and boy did it rain.  The Chapala weather page is watching it, so there really is a chance it will get here, or at least some of the water.  This happened last year from the other direction, and gave us a decent October.  Come on Ernesto.

Heavy rain in SJC

06 July 2012 - 10:51 PM

At about 11:30 PM  friday night, San Juan caught a really good rain storm.  Lots of lightning.  Streets became rivers for a short while.  Maybe this is going to be a good year like they predicted.  Longer range forecasts are saying that the 3rd week in July might be a very wet one.  Chapala Weather is saying more than an inch just today.

American Bulldog found

18 June 2012 - 11:46 AM

Late Saturday afternoon, someone turned in an injured American Bulldog to Anitas Animals. It had a road rash on it's head and was bruised. We took it to Doc.Mangana this morning and had it treated. It seems to be not badly hurt. It has a very friendly personality (thankfully). The breed is rare these days, so it doesn't seem likely it was abandoned. It is mostly white, and sort of plump. No ID on it. If you hear of anyone looking for this dog, ask them to call Anitas. If it was indeed not abandoned, someone is upset and looking for it.

Tropic storm Carlotta

14 June 2012 - 03:41 PM

Just saw on the National Hurricane Center web site that we have a tropical storm headed in our general direction. It's due to affect the coast Saturday. The forecast at the moment shows it turning around as it makes contact with the land. Sort of like the last one. Still, it could help the lake, possibly.
