Please hear me out before you hammer me. I understand, believe, and respect the position of many on this board who have had very bad experiences with the local transitos. However, I feel compelled to tell of a different situation. I was a passenger in my friend's car last Thursday heading west on the careterra when we were rear ended by a gas truck. It took quite awhile for the transitos to arrive, but when they did, they were wonderful. The were very kind and polite, and very patient with my limited Spanish. One of the three was fully bilingual and stayed till things were well underway. Of course it was pretty cut and dried in terms of who was at fault, and no one was seriously hurt. Incidentally, my friend and I are both Americans, both female, and she was driving a US plated car.

Gas leak
08 May 2013 - 06:12 AM
We have a gas leak somewhere. I can smell it, and our gas is disappearing at an alarming rate. Usual places have been checked - the tank itself, the connections to appliances, etc. I think it's in the line somewhere. Does anyone know who to call to help find this and repair it? Thanks in advance.
Lucky Dog at the Riberas Cat Shelter Monday
05 May 2013 - 04:01 PM
On Monday May 6 some of the Lucky Dog volunteers will be manning an information and adoption table inside the entrance to the Riberas cat shelter and pet food store from approximately 10:30 till 1:30. They will have a couple of great (and hopefully soon to be lucky) dogs with them. They also have some fun dog related items for sale - bandanas, Thunder Shirts, tote bags, etc. Stop by and say hi!
Directions to GDL fabric area?
22 April 2013 - 06:40 AM
Tomorrow I am driving some women to Guadalajara to fabric shop. I have an old piece of a map that shows the area (sort of) and have done a search on this site for what I can find for directions. Please, lest I say bad words in front of some women I don't know very well, can someone give me good directions to where I'm going? I think it's considered Santa Teresita? Some places I do know how to get to are Avenida Mexico, Lopez Mateo, and the Minerva traffic circle. I have also been to Plaza Mexico, though on foot. Any help you can give is much appreciated!
