Los Ninos de Chapala y Ajijic (NCA) are sponsoring two fundraisers in the next few weeks.

On Friday March 15th in conjunction with The Tall Boys there will be a Dinner and Dance at El Barco. Cocktails at 5, dinner at 6 and music at 7. El Barco is donating their facility for this event. Price 250 pesos. Tickets are available at NCA office or pm me and I will deliver. They will also be available at the door but better not wait till then.

On Thursday April 11, NCA and The Chapala Golf and Country Club are holding a joint Golf Tournament "The Amigo Cup". Proceeds for this event will go to both NCA and the Children's Education Fund at the Chapala Golf and Country Club. There will be many prizes. Hole in One, longest drive, straightest drive, closest to the hole etc. Tickets for the event are 1200 pesos. Country Club members are 1000 pesos. Prices include golf, cart, a goody bag, continental breakfast and either a Pig roast or Fish dinner. Extra dinner tickets are 250 pesos each.

Well the plans for the 35th consecutive annual Mexican National Chili Cook Off at Tobolandia are reaching completion.

This is truly a team effort and it is really great working with Jorge, Laura, Francis, Esthela, Sylvia, Bob, Jacque, Sharon and John (Juan), each of whom looks after a significant part of the Cook Off. Preparations for the Cook Off start in or before September each year. BTW our board is comprised of five Mexican Nationals, four Canadians and one US citizen. This Anglo mix changes from time to time.

The Cook Off involves some 100+ vendors, 40 or so competitors, continuous entertainment, a parade, a food court, a Mexican field crew and electricians, police and private security, 8 Charities, a Cruz Roja Duck Race and last but not least some 300+ volunteers who man (woman?) our food booths, admissions, T shirt and raffle sales, bathrooms, beer and liquor tents, golf carts, medical assistance and anywhere else they are needed.

Without these people there would be no Cook Off and they are looking forward to seeing you there on February 22, 23 and 24, just a few days away.

Please give them all round of applause for their participation.
