In the past month, I have had 2 negative experiences with the same ATM machine at HSBC. Firs,t the machine shorted me $500 pesos on a cash withdrawal. There was a lot of red tape to file a report from both banks and I stilll don't have a refund.
Then the following week, it "ate" my US debit card. The assistant manager checked to see whether it was stuck in the machine tube, but no luck. She informed me that there was nothing she could do about retrieving it as the HSBC's ATM component is totally separate from the banking component.
