#142127 Jorge Avelar

Pedro—It does not matter to me (and to most I'm sure) which person is elected, nominated or active in any branch of government—and what their titles are in English or in Spanish. What is obvious here is that it makes Jorge feel good to tell us that he might have an ‘important’ job, a ‘high position’ as he says with the municipality. Well . . . good for him, if it makes him feel good. He might even believe that he will be able to change the world, but it will change absolutely nothing in our life.

What is there to say except congratulate him WHEN it happens? Let's not be a damper on his enthusiasm.

#140349 Attempted Shake-down by Airport Federales

I agree with the idea "for myself" to take a taxi from the airport not to bother friends or family (BUT I will ALWAYS PICK UP MY GUESTS even at night).

The reasons given (a) the fear of having to pay morditas or (B) the fear of hitting a cow do not stand with me.

A question: Is the taxi driver protected from hitting a cow? Believe me, the speed they go on that highway, he would not have a chance to stop and I am sitting in there worrying about his driving. There is no perfect solution if you let fear into the equation.
