    I have talked to my Mexican bank and they can't cash this check. It is under $5000 USD. From a USA Bank. Does anyone know of a place that can, will, cash a check for a permanente? Long standing 18- years. Thanks for any help.

    Thank you, went I spoke to the agent at SSA they said they don't send SSA to Mexico. Perhaps a DOGE trainee?

    Hi, been there, didn't work. SSA still wants me at the office.  Asked to have it mailed instead. Has to be done at the SSA office.  I have been on with them every day for 17 days, as well as Consulate, etc.  New rules went into affect in April.  Believe me, I can't go to the states but it looks like there is no way around it!

      You need to speak with a supervisor with the FBU in Guadalajara. email them  and they will call you. That is why there is an office here. Believe me they can do everything.  It has every ability that a SS office in the USA has. 

      Something is very wrong or you are not giving us all the information.  They the system will acknowledge your email in seconds. 

      Expatriats all over the world receive their payments. Do you thing someone living in say Japan would be required to fly to an offin the USA  of course not

    Mostly correct. However Consulate doesn't do everything. Like change direct deposit. I have contacted them twice because they say I must go to SSA office in States. They have been no help, now searching for inexpensive travel to closest SSA office.

    It depends on the service being provided. Some services have a small co-pay, but not all. "Other clinics" is a difficult answer to provide. When we were first here, the clinics were mostly Mexican. Then clinics opened up that catered to the American, Canadian clientele. Those clinics were newer, nicer, and charged us for it. There are even some clinics here that have prices for Mexicans and higher prices for others. But there is incredible and abject poverty in the Mexican community. I have found the clinics more willing to work with you than anyone in the USA. I have gotten to the point where I don't want to use USA health care anymore. And yes, procedures are tests are much cheaper than in the USA.

    Been at Lakeside for 18 years. My husband and I both covered under VA. First. we tried going back to the states,too much,many hassles. He bussed up to TX.Same problem. Then Lakeside Medical came to town.They handle TriCare, Champ, Disability, They keep adding services,and they were great for my husband, and I. They take excellent care. File the paperwork. Fill meds. Labs, xrays, small ER plus ambulance service all in one spot. They usually provide specialist care through other local clinics or arrange for specialist to see you here or in Guadalajara depending on your needs.

    Is there a place to get a secured or unsecured short term loan at Lakeside? Security would be a car valued in the USA at just under $10,000. The loan amount is $3000 USD. Cash is needed immediately for emergency situation. Repayment would be less than one month with a $500 bonus. Thank you for your serious consideration.

    I need a USA telephone. It seems we can no longer bank without one. Does anyone have an old phone they can sell? Does anyone know where we can purchase one at Lakeside? This is an urgent need. Please, only serious help. Tori

    I just need someone to help me with my taxes. I pay fare rates. No don't tell me about turbo tax, etc. I always used a tax accountant in the states, now retired. Please, I just need a name. Thank you.
