In Topic: Feeding wild birds

Wild birds would never eat what I put out for them, only the pesky doves which I can't stand with all their incessant coo-coo-coo-coo but the hummingbirds do love their nectar.  Maybe the wild birds are insectavores.

In Topic: Red Cross No Service No Meds

Clinica Ajijic did not have a defibrilator when my friend went there with an MI.  And Cruz Roja did not have the components needed to use their defib.  Very sad medical scene for emergencies.   Donate, donate, donate to Cruz Roja, please.  The life you save may be your own.  I thought Clinica Mascaras got a new xray machine. Of course, new machine does not mean skilled operator.

One year on Dia de los Muertos, I discovered Dand Chandos' grave in the Ajijic Cemetary.  All the other graves were covered in flowers, and decorations, but there is a corner of the cemetary which has gringo graves, including his, which had no flowers.  I put a large bunch of flowers on his grave, and each year made sure to put flowers on his grave.  No one remembers him???  And the other gringos in that corner of the cemetary???  Sad, how a renowned author lies forgotten.

In Topic: r.v. parked on our street

10 May 2013 - 02:10 AM

Many of the "streets" in Ajijic, are callejons which are the width for burro traffic only, left over from the old days.  And there is a dearth of parking places for the residents of the area who do not have garages, which can be everyone on the block, depending on the street in question, so an RV taking up parking space which could be utilized by the residents could be disconcerting, to say the least.  Could depend on how long the situation lasts.  Can other traffic can readily pass the RV, including the huge Pepsi trucks which will take out the side of your house trying to pass a wide RV (or SUV) parked?  All of these alternatives (and more) have happened on our callejon in the past 6 years.

Hijacking the topic, to lighten up the day ---

One time, at Superlake, the person bagging my purchases added the store's labeling machine into my bags!!!  When I got home and found ti, I sure had a laugh.  Took it back and they were so grateful.  Mistakes happen.  I wondered why the bag was so heavy....
