Wookie
Okay, I know this is way too late, however, have been contacted by family that are in Cabo San Lucas (right at the tip) they have been told to evacuate but not where to evacuate. Is anyone familiar with the area ... is anyone there experiencing the same thing? Does anyone know where shelters are?
JayBearII
If I were there, I would head north and hope to find a place to stay, as the tip of Baja is very exposed. Check the storm warnings--http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ Oddly, the warnings seem to be for the east coast of Baja not the west coast.
CG2U
There are 164 shelters set up...follow the traffic north for sure, the brunt is to pass around midnight. Keep following the news, even the weather channel in English. http://online.wsj.com/articles/mexicos-baja-peninsula-braces-for-hurricane-odile-1410735993
Ferret
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_ep5+shtml/233150.shtml?5-daynl#contents scroll down to see the map. I hope that they are already in a shelter. Hurricane Odile is a Category Three Hurricane and is going to affect both sides of the Baja. Be safe please.
