MtnMama
OK, first we used Eva, who was a wonderful tailor, but she moved to the beach. Then we used Leo, who is near the Chapala Mercado, but he recently retired. Does anyone know of another sastre in Chapala? We really don't want to drive all the way to Ajijic, to a pricey sastre, just to get things like zippers fixed. Thanks
contadina
The man who sells bamboo furniture on the Carretera (next to Brissi's Restaurant) also does alterations. We've been satisfied with everything he's done for us.
Rony
There is another one (I heard that she is good) on Zaragoza (Chapala). On Zaragoza, coming from the center, you cross Miguel Martinez, you cross a small bridge, you walk by a little store that sells cheeses, and on the same side, a few houses from that cheese store (there is a sign out about quinceneras : she makes the outfits for them). It is actually very close to the new CFE office (same side of the street). Rony
Go Solar
You can also talk to Esperanza @ Oh-Shirt, just east of Chapala on the carraterra. They will generally handle repairs and alterations.
