More Liana
And of course before the nine-day San Andrés fiestas, the entire month of October is dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary, with early-morning songs, bands, pilgrimages and cohetes (loud rockets). These festivities start at almost any point in town and parade to the church of Our Lady of the Rosary, on the Ajijic plaza. Bmh mentioned Christmas, but prior to Christmas there are the nine days of the Posadas, with charming parades, large numbers of parties, piñata-breaking, and general merriment. bmh
Actualy it really starts with the celebration of Independane and after that it is all over until Mardi Gras. Aftter Christmas come New Year and then the 3 Kings Day the Candelaria and then Carnaval and then you can rest for a while until Easter... And yes the month of October is the month of the Virgi del Rosario so there will be cohetes as well.. Here we are celebrating San Cristobal and the fireworks start around 4 am, this morning I woke up at 3.30 as the earthquake was rattling the door then the cohetes and bells started.. It is finally a little quie so time for siesta before the cohetes for the 8pm mass start again..
