Semana Santa in Guadalajara

Recommended Posts

That's a tough question, Camille. In one respect, Easter is much like Christmas: the Saturday night before Easter is the important church service; Sunday is a sleep-in sort of day. As for tourist-y things to do around GDL on Sunday, most everything will be in normal mode. Take them (or send them) to Karne Garibaldi (corner José Clemente Orozco and Calle Garibaldi) for comida. Inexpensive, delicious, and an iconic spot in GDL. If they're into bars, La Fuente on Pino Suárez about half a block north of Plaza de la Libertad is one of the oldest bars in GDL, a hangout for intellectuals and wannabes. Great fun. They probably close early on Sunday, if they open at all.
