wisecracker Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Could be a problem around SJC. Don't know so treat as rumor until confirmed please.
ctyankee Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 This this a Canadian / UK term, "spot of bother". Could this term possibly mean, "a little bit of butter please". Please clarify. Gracious
bmh Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 There were many ambulances, police cars, municipal and State going in that direction all day so it may be a rumor with a whole lot of truth, something has to be going on.
DuckieHoomever Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 We came through SJC to the Raquet Club from Guad less than an hour ago. No indication of any problems. (And used the fully open Joco bypass. Sweet.)
bmh Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Could be past Jocotepec but all these ambulances, State and Municiapl cars were going somewhere and going there very fast..
hensley Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Went to Joco today at noon and returned at 2:30pm and no problems.
El Saltos Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 We came through SJC to the Raquet Club from Guad less than an hour ago. No indication of any problems. (And used the fully open Joco bypass. Sweet.) Is it complete in both directions?
wisecracker Posted June 18, 2013 Author Report Posted June 18, 2013 This this a Canadian / UK term, "spot of bother". Could this term possibly mean, "a little bit of butter please". Please clarify. Gracious No it means a bit of trouble, you're welcome, and please pass the butter.
wisecracker Posted June 18, 2013 Author Report Posted June 18, 2013 Could be past Jocotepec but all these ambulances, State and Municiapl cars were going somewhere and going there very fast.. I have no idea however police and ambulances do not sound good to me. I'd say one should check on el informador first thing in the morning.
wisecracker Posted June 18, 2013 Author Report Posted June 18, 2013 I'm in Joco and I haven't heard sirens at all today. They appeared to be in SJC.
cedros Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 I wonder if there is any connection to this; http://www.chapala.com/webboard/index.php?showtopic=44805
Fox Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 OK, there was another incident that the Policia responded to this morning.(June 18,2013) First sirens we heard was close to 8am. My wife and I had an appointment in Chapala, so left our home around 8:15, to find at least 8 Policia trucks and many policemen walking down one of the back streets leading to el limon. I have heard from our gardener what MAY have happened, and being that it is not fact, I am sorry but will not repeat, what I have been told. I do know this is a seperate incident than what happened and was reported in the paper on June 17th.
hkrause Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 We live at the western edge of Ajijic and commented earlier today about all the sirens we heard passing by. Wondered what was going on.
Travis Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 What Fox heard sounds like what I heard. I was talking to my Spanish teacher about it this afternoon. He and his brother heard all the sirens this morning at exactly that time. Not yesterday's stuff, but today. Later my Spanish teacher's brother found something on the internet about it, but my teacher couldn't find it during class, and I can't find it now. It's strange (the not finding info at the normal sources). Since I can't confirm what I heard, it's not worth sharing either. The news should come out before long though. Unless it never does.
bennie Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 i spent my life in 2 major cities, we never had this speculation, as sirens were normal. maybe they are normal here? seems that way. what ever it is, its proberly not very nice, so why the need to know?
Travis Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 why the need to know? Because some of us prefer not to be oblivious to the world around us?
sambrit10 Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 A friend of mine said she heard there was a shootout in SJC about 4 PM. I don't know any more than this, except it doesn't sound like anyone was killed.
bennie Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 if everytime i heard a siren/loud noise, & speculated.......that would take up so many hrs per day. thats a life? each to his own, your choice. is this what happends when people get old? or just small town living? there are tires that blow out, ambulances, fist fights, fire crackers, police, cars crashing. this is a very noisy place. kind of boring@ the least. negative @ the worst. most of it doesnt affect me. enjoy your life!
moderator-2 Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Too much rumor and speculation, not enough first-hand reporting here. Closed. If any of you obtain an accurate, verifiable report start a new thread.
