donandjim Posted June 17, 2013 Report Posted June 17, 2013 I was at WalMart in San Antonio this morning. Right now they have several tents and other camping equipment, including the small propane bottles, which I haven't seen in the past 8 years. No fishing supplies at all.

moonhill Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 For a while there was a sports store with camping gear next door to the garden center in Riberas, next to 7-11. I don't know if it's still there, but they had tents and various other camping supplies when I was there.

Thanks for any suggestions Camping???? seriously--- in Mexico can be very dangerous -which is why equip is not so easily available- and it's not wild animals you need to be afraid of.... Camping is a Gringo thing -my extended family of 16 spends every Memorial Day weekend camping in Yosemite- BUT When I asked a group of Mexican friends about camping - their response was a lot of "" rolling eyes- and Are you crazy! not in Mexico""
cookj5 Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Soriana in Chapala has a camping section that usually contains tents, sleeping bags, coolers, camp stools, etc.
