austinx Posted June 17, 2013 Report Posted June 17, 2013 What would happen here if Chapala did become a part of the Guad. Metro area, as Ixtlahuacan has? Nothing? Taxes? Oversight of municipal govt? More funds for municipal projects??
R2D2 Posted June 17, 2013 Report Posted June 17, 2013 I believe there are more funds for the Metropolitan Municipios via Consejo Metropolitano de Guadalajara and more benefits in terms of taxes, water, pavements, parks, street lights, etc. I don't think Chapala will become part of the Metro area in a short term. Now, if Chapala becomes part of the metro area, expect small housing developments to increase, quality of life deterioration, crime rates going up and lots of new comers in the area looking for jobs that simply do not exist in the area and their only chance is to commute to Guad everyday.
