daisy2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 anyone know where fresh basil can be purchased
PULELEHUA Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 Italian : Episodically, at Superlake. Also, likely at the Tuesday Farmer's Market in West Ajijic. For a regular supply, best and simplest to grow your own. Thai Basil: best to grow your own though might find at the Farmer's Market on Tuesdays.
tomgates Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 Buy two plants and once established, take turns cutting them back and you will always have fresh basil. I have seen herb plants at Exotica(libramento), the vivero next to Coffee Kingdom (carretera) and the vivero behind Fenix Realty in San Antonio Tlay. Be sure to trim off stems that flower so that it won't go to seed. Patti

canmex87 Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 anyone know where fresh basil can be purchased Walmart is carrying a variety of fresh herbs including basil.
natbug Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 Someone told me that Lake Taco, behind the Pemex on the Libremiento allows folks to cut herbs as needed from their herb garden. Never tried it, as I grow my own, but you could ask.
tomgates Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 The basil at SuperLake is kept by the deli people. And yes, Lake Taco has lots of herbs, basil included, for the picking. Don't be a hog.
traderspoc Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 I just purchased of pots of basil at green market on 2 weeks ago Tuesday, each pot had three basil starters, after two weeks in a larger pots already three inches bigger and picking leaves. growing your own in a pot is the best
