Italian : Episodically, at Superlake. Also, likely at the Tuesday Farmer's Market in West Ajijic. For a regular supply, best and simplest to grow your own. Thai Basil: best to grow your own though might find at the Farmer's Market on Tuesdays.

Buy two plants and once established, take turns cutting them back and you will always have fresh basil.

I have seen herb plants at Exotica(libramento), the vivero next to Coffee Kingdom (carretera) and the vivero behind Fenix Realty in San Antonio Tlay.

Be sure to trim off stems that flower so that it won't go to seed.

Someone told me that Lake Taco, behind the Pemex on the Libremiento allows folks to cut herbs as needed from their herb garden. Never tried it, as I grow my own, but you could ask.

The basil at SuperLake is kept by the deli people.

And yes, Lake Taco has lots of herbs, basil included, for the picking. Don't be a hog.
