virgogirl Posted May 23, 2013 Author Report Posted May 23, 2013 milage is not accurate on the guage because I had another Legacy exactly like it, tranny went out. bought this same model with good tranny and dropped the good engine in it. so the milage would have been tracked from the original engine, if you follow that. 2.2 i believe, automatic. 4 cylinder the car needs three sets wheel bearing, one was repaired, shocks. the motor is good. i had timing belt, water pump, seals, all done before driving it down here a couple years ago. no oil leaks. lightly used over the last two years. usually walk and take bus. not much action on highway.
ChapalaLifestyles Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 ... there is no legal jurisdiction to transfer ownership of any foreign-plated vehicle in Mexico. Be carefull, you could be responsible for something the buyer does (accidents, criminal acts) ... and even if you have a Carta Responsiva, you might have to seek legal help if something goes wrong.

She has no property in Mexico and is returning to the States. I think Carta Responsiva is the best idea given the circumstances.
virgogirl Posted May 24, 2013 Author Report Posted May 24, 2013 I can do everything through spencer and all will be well. I'm not too worried about it.
virgogirl Posted May 28, 2013 Author Report Posted May 28, 2013 It is the proper paperwork (It is a form)that is used to sell a car that is of a qualifying year that legally for the most part allows you to not have to remove the car from the country, allows you to cancel the Temorary Import Sticker, and for the most part, gets you off the hook if the buying party doesn't nationalize the vehicle. I say for the most part. because there is some argument and controversy. But since I own nothing here, I am not too worried about my buying party leading me into a lot of trouble. It's an old car, and I'm just not too worried about it. I investigated it on and off the web board and it is something that can be done with this type and year of car.
