osuespirit Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 Does anyone know where I can find pipe cleaners? I need them for a children's art project. Thanks.
RVGRINGO Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 You might have to walk the streets until you encounter a Mexican smoking a pipe. Otherwise, you have an excuse to explore the tobacco shops in Guadalajara. I am sure Google might turn up a few and that they would answer their phone if it were to ring.
More Liana Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 FantasĂas Miguel on Calle Hidalgo in Guadalajara. They'll be craft-type pipe cleaners, usually in colors.
chapala45900 Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 You might check at La Paz Liquor store next to Super Lake for the regular ones. I bought some colorful ones at a papeleria in Chapala. It is about two blocks east on Morelos from the traffic light. You will see his store two doors from the corner to the south.
lakeside101 Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 i found in Soriana - where sewing notions were
sambrit10 Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 No need to go to Guad or even Chapala (unless of course you're already in Chapala). The fabric shop on the Ajijic plaza has them in many different colors. It's on Parroquia (sp?) -- the street that comes out from the church gate -- next to the Egyptian restaurant. They're in a set of cubbyholes right at the entrance. I also do art projects for kids so am constantly scouting for supplies. The Dollar Store (the store across from the plaza near the bank and the Azteca bar that sells an amazing collection of sundries) has a lot of supplies behind the desk to the right just past all the kitchen gadgets. The various Papelerias also have many supplies, my favorite being Papeleria Hidalgo which is, not surprisingly, on Hidalgo near the plaza. Now does anyone know where I might find food coloring for homemade play dough?
maw7815 Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 You can find food coloring in the boxed cake isle of most grocery stores. maw
traderspoc Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 I second craft stores in Guadalajara, you can buy them by the 100 for 1/2 the price of lakeside any color you want cost about 25- 35 pesos a hundred, 2012 prices I used to buy about 1200 ( 12 colors) at a time for craft projects at the orphanage, the kids would go through 200 a day check the cloth store near the bus station in Chapala, 1 block east of bus station, they have some, in stock on occasion, possibly could order for you.
