gringal Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 A few blocks from the central square; ultra modern decor and spotless. Had lunch there yesterday with a group and was very impressed with the menu, the service and the food. Every one of the six were delighted with dishes like the Chicken Provenzal, the fondue, the pasta with shrimp and another (forgotten) choice. Home baked rolls; yum. Pico de Gallo; fresh and spiced from hades for heat. Prices around 90 pesos for lunch. Worth the topes.
gringal Posted May 17, 2013 Author Report Posted May 17, 2013 address please I'd love to give it, but I was walking there from the Cultural Center with a group, one of whom knew where it was and I just followed blindly behind. The folks minding the current art show at the CC can probably help on the address. Roughly: from facing the Plaza at the CC, cross the street, turn right and walk two or three blocks. Turn left and it's in the first block. Maybe someone on here can be more helpful. Sorry about that.
Lucky23 Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 We were quite impressed with the upscale decor in the dining room and the quality of our meal at El Quinto Sabor. The air conditioning, elegant dining chairs and real table linens make for an enjoyable dining experience. We will be back and recommend eating here and taking a stroll around Jocotepic's main square. gringal Posted May 18, 2013 Author Report Posted May 18, 2013 Thanks for all that. I didn't do the job.....you did.!
Arti Riberas Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 Have been there. Loved it. Will go again.
RVGRINGO Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 We had lunch there today. The place is delightful, AC temperature just right and good service. The appetizers and meals were artfully presented and very tasty. Coffee was good and our bill was $300 including tip. The drive was better a decade ago, before they improved the road, causing increased speeding and the need for topes. Now, it takes much longer to get from Chapala to Jocotopec, but Quinto Sabor is worth the trip. There is nothing like it in either Ajijic or Chapala ..... Some aspiring restauranteurs might benefit from taking a look and a taste. Of course, we also need more good, traditional Mexican restaurants in the area; like Viva Mexico in San Juan Cosala or Cinco Potrillos in Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos. Nevertheless, Quinto Sabor is unique!
gary c. Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 Our favorite meal at this restaurant is breakfast. Really good. Come on a Thursday. Park in the public parking lots (about 20 pesos for as long as you need). You can cruise the tianguis and other shops around the plaza area and easy walk to or from Quinto Sabor. It makes a great trip. Carol
