easy directions from lakeside to laredo border please.

On the 80D cuota out of Guadalajara you'll eventually get to Lagos de Moreno (take the short bypass of this town to the left... watch carefully for it). Once on the northern outskirts of Lagos, on 80, you will see the new 2-lane cuota. Take it. It runs right along side of the old libre 80 which was a horrible road.

About 50 miles later you will be approaching Ville de Arriaga and you will want to take the cuota to the right before you get to Arriaga. I don't remember the name of this cuota.... it could be a continuation of 80D but in any respect it will probably say "to Mexico or Mexico 57". In about another 45 miles you will connect with highway 57; go left/north. In less than 2 miles? you will take the San Luis Potosi bypass to the right. It will probably say "57D to Matehuala". This bypass is about 20 miles long before it again rejoins 57. Watch your speed limit from about where you turned off 80D to the end of the 57D by-pass.

The 57 cuota will take you to the NE side of Saltillo where you will go east towards Monterrey on cuota 40D. On the western side of Monterrey watch for the cuota bypass around the NW side of Monterrey. You will join it at a toll station so be in the very right lane of that toll station in order to take this bypass. This bypass will intersect the cuota 85D going north to Nuevo Laredo.

If you need directions to Immigrations and customs in N.V. let me know.

Happy Trails.

When you get to Nuevo Laredo you take the airport exit and go right at the traffic light. To turn in your temporary import sticker, you will get on the lateral just before the international bridge, lateral on the right, proceed straight on the lateral until you come to the big parking lot on the left. There is a drive through to turn in your import sticker.

Most of the route is pretty clearly marked. Lagos de Moreno, San Luis Potosi, Saltillo, Monterrey, Nuevo Laredo.

If one is on a tourist visa can they turn that in at the sticker booth as well?

If by the 'sticker booth' you mean where they remove the temporary car import stickers outside the building that is 'under' the two bridges...... no. They told me I would need to go inside which is what I have done there since that first time.
