Cozumel Restaurant at Chapala Malecon

I have frequented Cozumel Restaurant at the end of the Chapala malecon for the last three years. I am curious if anyone else has felt the food and beverage quality is taking a negative change. My last two visits have been a little disappointing in the quality of the meat. Also, the tequila in the margaritas seems to have taken a bad change. Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Cozumel is one of our go to spots, we eat there probably about once per month. No, I have not noticed their food going downhill. The faves at our table are usually the seafood molcajete, the fried shrimp, and the coconut shrimp. The margaritas aren't the best in town, but they certainly are the cheapest! I always jokingly ask them for lots of tequila, and I have them bring some sliced limes to the table so I can tart them up a bit. I really like the place, and think the waiters are top notch - attentive and funny. We always have fun there.

We also like the place and my favorite is the huachinango dorado, whole red snapper, deep fried and served with a garlic sauce. Waiting for it allows time for a couple of those complimentary margaritas.

Food is fine, service is very good and we always enjoy the fact that there is usually parking available out front.

We, too, love Cozumel and go about once/month. Always order the Red Snapper, Shrimp Costa Azul or Coconut Shrimp. Haven't noticed any decline in quality of the food but I have noticed that whatever they are mixing the Margaritas with is terribly sweet. The last 2 times, I asked for just lime juice and tequila. That seemed to work out just fine!

Cointreau (or triple sec) is supposed to be the other ingredient in a margarita. But they often mix them like they do limonadas, with no concern for the amounts of each liquid, so they probably overdosed you on the sugary stuff.

Went there the first time a couple of weeks ago (we are sort of new here) and will go back again. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp, and the margaritas, staff, price and atmosphere will make it a regular go to place. Maybe vets here have noticed a change, but for a new guy, it is good from the get go.
