This morning I witnessed ugly behavior in front of Torito. An American in a Washington State X Terra Nissan came up behind car that was stopped awaiting other cars in front to move along while a car was waiting left turn onto the highway. The X Terra guy blew his horn and then began shouting obscenities at the man in the car in front of him. The man in the front car got out to respond to the shouting and this only made the man in the X Terra even more abusive. The confronted man turned around and got back into his car and when he could, he drove away. This did not deter the angry driver and he continued to shout abuse that could be heard by nearly everyone at Salvadors and Torito. My advice to the X Terra...go home. We really don't need you here.

That is ugly. What could motivate someone to have such road rage? Drunk?? Wacko? Ice addict? Ultimate rudeness? Overblown feelings of entitlement? Yes, go home, for our little place here doesn't want that type of person.

You're right, lcscats. Bad karma will come to him. It almost sounds like he was on something. How could anyone be so angry over something so minor?

Gosh if I had only been there and had taken a video thereof with my iPhone. It would have made a great YouTube video. The guy would have been famous, or maybe the word would be infamous. Or maybe he would have grabbed and destroyed my iPhone. Who knows. It’s probably best that I wasn’t there.

You don't lean on your horn, shout obscenities and flip people off because you don't know if the guy has a gun and will decide to blow your head off.

It is challenging to resist rushing to judgement, is it not? Could be a brain tumor causing irrational behaviors, or other unknown.

This is unlikely. Only a very small number of brain tumors in a certain part of the brain would cause that type of behavior. Other causes, i.e. medications/drugs, nasty temper, would be far more likely.

Having just returned to the USA from a great August in town (be back in January permanently), I wonder why anyone who is living the life I found there can get angry at anything. I'm from NYC and I hope never, except in danger, to use my horn. Darn, most of you (us) are retired, where is this guy rushing to? Benefit of the doubt: diabetic and already dosed with insulin?

BTW: do behaviors of this type increase as the population of snowbirds increases?

sounds like the car detailed model description with Washington plates might be pretty recognizable;
usually someone who regularly hits Bugambilias for one reason or another.....bad luck at the casino??

Would that be a metallic red Xterra Nissan with WA plates? If so, I believe I know who this might be and he does have an anger problem.

See, dancing queen symbolizes what has attracted us to Ajijic, it is a small town. People cannot remain totally anonymous in it, the community is that small. Good behaviors, good people will get noticed and networked, people who are not so good will also get noticed, there is really no place to hide. It is like any small community and so if you want to maintain your place in it, you need subscribe the the generally accepted behaviors [like saying Good Morning, or Hello when you pass on the street], or risk being singled out or, as we've just seen, pointed out.

I suppose it means that in this community, we are all, in one way or another interelated, and maybe closer than six degrees of separation, which causes us to accentuate the positives of behaviors and shun the negatives, if we want not to be isolated.

In the Diamond Center on 47th Street in NYC, millions in diamonds are exchanged, bought, sold on no more than a handshake or an verbal agreement. To renege on that agreement, to cheat another merchant would mean you could not longer do business on 47th Street and you're out on your ###. It makes it one of the best and safest places to conduct trade. In truth there is no tougher opinion than peer pressure in a small community, where the majority behavior is the standard.

Now it gets weird if the majority accepted behavior is to dress in grass skirts, bright florescent aloha shirts and Carmen Miranda hats, and have breakfast at dinner time and start drinking in the morning, but hey - when in Rome.....

You know the funny part? That man who was waiting in the vehicle in front of the X Terra was me. But he was driving a Black Jeep Liberty. I was pulled off of the road blocking a vacant spot in front of El Torito as my wife went into el Torito. If I pull my truck into the spot at El Torito and turn it off, some times it won't start. So I just stayed at the top off of the road not to block any of the traffic.

This guy pulled up beside be and told me to move ahead so he could park in the vacant spot. Being the nice guy that I am, and knowing that my wife was coming out soon, I moved my truck ahead to let him park in the spot.

After I moved ahead, he starts honking his horn at me and waving his hands. Not quite sure what he wanted, I got out of my vehicle to see what was wrong. He proceeds to give me a verbal tongue lashing and tells me to get my f€£#%ing vehicle out of the way as he needs to back in the spot.

He got sooo mad at me that he actually put his vehicle into park and was proceeding to get out. I think he stopped once he saw me. LOL

I know who he is, and all I can say is that he is lucky my wife was with me because I am a gentleman and don't usually cuss or get into a fight around ladies, but come on, grow up.

Take a pill and relax.

Cause maybe next time, I just might be alone.

Hahahaha, just kiddin

And thanks for the original post. My wife got in the vehicle and thought I had started all the horn noise and shouting. She didn't believe me. LOL

After she read your post, she apologized to me.

Viva Mexico.
