A few days ago, Lori (of Wildlife Rescue) posted about 6 dogs whose owner had unexpectedly passed away and left behind 6 rescued dogs. Well, the owner of the property has flown down and wants the dogs out NOW. These dogs have already lost Cathy, the woman who rescued them and now they´re being hit with a cane, threatened, and God knows what else by this "woman." Yes, I understand that she is reclaiming her property, but to abuse animals who have previously been abused?

Thanks to a lot of hard work, Lori has already managed to find homes for two of the dogs, but there are still 4 left. Please, please consider adopting one of these dogs. They´re all housebroken, sweet natured and will give you back so much more love than you could ever imagine...not to mention how good you´ll feel knowing you´ve rescued them from a new hell. Hopefully, by tomorrow we´ll be able to post photos, but for now, here are the dogs and a brief description:

Blondie - male - approx. 4 yrs - med., beige short-haired, has a slight limp because he was hit by a car. Neutered.

BB - male, not neutered - approx 8 mos - 1 yr. He looks like a small version of Marmaduke. For some reason, the "woman" who owns the property has taken a strong dislike to this poor animal and has been abusing him to the point that he´s so stressed that he´s broken out in a rash (which Lori is treating) and trying to dig his way out. He has blood on his back and rear. The excuse? "This is my property." Even with all of this, Lori says that he´s so sweet and trusting.

Blackie - male - neutered - about 12 yrs old - looks like a collie/shepherd mix. Chewing his tail raw because he´s a nervous wreck now from the "woman¨" This dog was once shot in the eye with a slingshot...why, in God´s name, would anyone want to continue abusing him (or any other animal, for that matter)?

Pitiful Pearl - female - spayed - approximately 7 yrs old - about 40 pounds. Black, short-haired mix.

Please, if you have the room, consider saving one of these dogs. If you can´t be a "forever" home, then consider fostering until a home can be found. These poor dogs need to be rescued NOW.

Don't leave the dogs there even one more day. Send me a personal message and I'll come and get them and take them to Anita's. We are packed, but we'll make room.

People are so disappointing sometimes. You wonder what they did with their hearts. Then there are those that lift your spirits with their kindness. Thank you JayKay.

How about a BIG thank you to Anita - she is the one that is and has always taken in the animals that others do not want. When people say such nasty things about her but yet she is always there to take in these poor animals.

Thank you Anita for all you have and continue to do for the animals.

Perhaps you might mention that if a denucia is filed against her she could be deported and denied re3 entry, she might mellow until the dogs can be placed?

My heart is breaking for these poor dogs. What a HORRIBLE woman the owner is to treat animals like this! A BIG HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO ANITA AND ALL WHO HELP! With five, I am unable to take more and hope they find forever loving homes soon.

Anita is going to need more food than ever to keep all these mouths fed. PLEASE! people, consider donating a bag of dog or cat kibbles or a case of cans to her. I drop one off each time I go to Costco. If you can't get their, LakesideExpress.com can get it for you, the Kirkland brand is high quality at very good price. Or, you can pick up a bag at the shelter shop in Riberas and take it to Anita's stall at the Wednesday tianguis. She will also welcome cash donations there.

The dogs are being housed at The Ranch and they too are in dire need of food. Stop by the shelter pet store and buy a bag. Geoffry knows what brand is fed. And thank you!
