Can anyone tell me where around here to buy a duck for roasting? 2 kg / 4-5 lbs, or so. Thank you.

At one time, you could always buy fresh ducks in Guadalajara on Av. Hidalgo near the corner of Calle Fidias, not far from the Glorieta Minerva. House is on the south side of Hidalgo; there's a sign out front.

Walmart always has frozen ducks from the USA available. Last price was $94 per kilogram. Most of the ducks averaged around 2 kilos.

I object to this thread in principle. Is there a PETA representative Lakeside!

Conejorapido & Geeser: I looked at Walmart today, in the bin with the frozen turkeys and frozen Rock Cornish Hens -- but, no ducks! Where did you see them? Does anyone know how to ask for a frozen DUCK in Spanish? Thanx for all the replies!

Carolina, they usually have ducks and turkeys in the freezer at El Torito. Duck is "pato" in Spanish. Frozen is "congelado." However, around here they tend to simply say "helado." So you would ask for "pato congelado" or "pato helado."

Carolina, at Walmart on the last row. They are in the 1st gondola in front of the fresh meat case on the side that faces the glass front meat case near the turkeys. The ducks are standing up against the back edge of freezer gondola. Ask the meat guys "¿me puede mostrar los patos congelados

Ask a Beaver and they can tell you where the Ducks are. (Joke for the humor impaired and east coasters)
