My Club Car's six, 6 volt batteries are getting a little long in the tooth, but seem to be working fine right now. Would like to get info from someone familiar with these, or on renewing kits (replaces the acid with new) or the availability of replacement batteries in the Chapala/Ajijic area. TIA

6 volt "Golf Cart" batteries are widely available. The big name in batteries here is LTH (lth.com.mx/), which are available at company stores (regional distributors), WalMart, La Bodega Aurrera, Soriana's and hundreds of automotive supply houses. The 6V batteries are more likely to be found at the LTH stores or if not in stock they can get them. We have an LTH store here in Joco, so I'd assume a big ol' town like Chapala must have one. You can also find them at Costco and I would suppose at Sam's. I know they have them at Costco because I purchased a couple for solar storage.
As you probably know they're pricey, so get ready for some sticker shock.
Got no info on battery renewing, suggest you do a Google Search. Previous research into this subject led me to believe that additives and "renewing" were not a great idea, but you need to make that decision. There is a process called desulfurization which can help some older batteries, but is more designed for keeping your new battery lasting longer.
Here's a link where you can see some options:

and here an explanation of the WHY?:

Thank You, deGimp. Really appreciated the detailed response. I had checked the Internet, including eBay. Prices were all over the map, with a number of "...revive your cart battery..." ads of two types, one suggesting that its' competitors don't use "actual chemical". Gave me just enough info to ask the stupid original post on this thread...;o). Will keep on looking.
