Hello all,
The US consulate has changed one of their policies with regards to renewals of tourist visas. Effective July 1st, you only need one appointment at consular services if your are renewing a tourist visa that has expired within the last 4 years, prior the policy was 1 year. This will make it easier for many people as a second appointment at the consulate involves time and hassle as well as having to bring documentation and carries a larger risk of denial.
Today the consulate had a question and answer session while they were at LCS and I spoke to the new area consul as well which was quite interesting, he is a nice guy and they spoke on many misconceptions about applying for visas for Mexican nationals.
El Consulado Americano cambió sus políticas, ahora no se necesita la segunda cita en el consulado (solo la cita en servicios consulares) para la renovación de la visa de turista si la visa anterior venció dentro de 4 años (antes era 1 año).
