We requested information about a rental house in Ajijic and were contacted by Ajijic Escapes/Vallarte Escapes rental company. After selection of the property we put down our security deposit and were in constant comminucation with this company. The final payment was made when we were informed by acqaintances in Ajijic that Ajijic Escapes/Vallarte Escapes had not secured a rental agreement with the home owners. After contacting Mr. Robert Dry, the director of sales and partner in the company we were told that it was just "a misunderstanding" and it would be resolved that day. It was not and after we demanded a refund all communications came to a halt. No emails, no phone calls were answered. Because it is a large amount of money we decided to travel to Ajijic from the US to take action. We did meet with Mr. Robert Dry on several occations and were promised a full refund wired to a Mexican account the next day. As of today not a single penny has been refunded. We hope that our mistake, our loss, our bad experience might avoid others to make the same mistake. We are now in the process of legal action.
Don't make the mistake we made!!

Yes, after reading your post, it rang a bell with me, so I found that old thread, entitled Renters and Property Owners Beware, with posts dated June 21 on this Web Board. I am very sorry for your misfortune. It's hard to believe this company and the people running it are getting away with being so blatantly dishonest. The June 21 posts will give you some ideas for follow-up. Best of luck to you.

It's time someone files a formal complaint with Profeco. This company needs to go and word needs to spread about their awful reputation.

As I posted on the other thread, the other company that they run Vallarta Escapes, just has a total history of the same behavior. Check it out on www.tripadvisor.com.
