Anyone in the Ajijic/Chapala area have a tall cat tree for sale? I'm looking for one that is six to eight feet in height, with several "platforms" attached to the main post. I have four cats I've raised since they were kittens; all of them had been abandoned and were not doing well when I got them (but all of them doing fine now). I live in a rather small rental house with a tiny outdoor patio, and was hoping the addition of a tall cat tree would add some small enjoyment to their lives.

Thank you.

Have Hammers will build one for you. I think I saw one at their place when I drove by.

Ginger: Thanks for the referral. Though if anyone out there has one that's quite tall that they no longer need, please let me know.

There are some for sale at the shelter store. These were locally made and they will make one to order for you. I think they are made by Have Hammers

You can also check the pet store next to Soriana, I have seen them in there.

Thank you for rescuing and thinking about your kitties. They will definitely enjoy a tall cat tree. I have one for my 4 cats, 6 ft tall as you describe and they get hours of enjoyment from it.

The Have Hammers program is your best bet. I don't think the ones I've seen at the Shelter are anywhere near as tall as you want. The Have Hammers program can make anything you want; they do excellent work. They are on Ocampo down from Manix Restaurant.

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. I'll check Have Hammers, though I was hoping to find a tall used tree, already assembled (ideally, one made in the States). From time to time I've seen a few cat trees in stores in the area, but none were close to what I'm looking for. They also seemed overly expensive, considering what appeared to me to be their very basic construction. Again, thank you all.

It might be difficult to compare the pricing with something from the US. Mexico does not seem to have an overly abundant supply of 2" x 4"'s. Check out the prices of wood in Home Depot to understand why.

Mexico doesn't have alot of forests which is why wood tends to be more expensive here.
