We recently had a break in. Fortunately we were out and disturbed the thieves when we returned. Unfortunately the intruders sprayed our 4 dogs but they have since recovered. The thief or thieves stole some money but nothing else. We called the Ajijic police who responded very quickly.
The police asked us to file a denuncia with the Ministerio Publico in Chapala. With assistance from a staff member from Spencer's office, who accompanied me to the Ministerio Publico's office, I filed the denuncia this afternoon. It took about 45 minutes. it may have helped that I had written out the details of the incident before hand and given it to the person who came with me. We had originally gone on Monday but the office was very busy, apparently processing people who had been arrested over the weekend.
The only document I was asked for was a copy of my passport. I took the original with me as well, in case they needed to see it.
Thanks to Spencer and his staff for assisting in this.

No we did not see them so we do not know who they were. But the police said we should report anyway. I think they said to do so because the stolen money was foreign currency.
