This is the week of the Festival os St. John the Baptist, the town's patron saint. And here are some of the activities this week.
San Juan Cosala has some of the most authentic events in this area.
Every day there is a parade with live floats of St. John the Baptist that starts at the east end of town and goes to the west end around 6 to 6:3pm.

Fri., June 22nd @ 7:30 pm - 2 acts of Contemporary Dance by the Itzel Gonzalez

Sat., June 23rd @ 5 pm - International Festival of Poetry led by local poet,
Mario Puglisi (in Spanish)
7 pm - Son de Mexico Youth Ballet Folklorico presents Mexican Mosaic.
8 pm - Son de Mexico International Ballet Folklorico presents The Beginning of
Jarocho Sound (a manifestation of traditional Veracruz culture)
Sunday, June 24th @ 7:30 pm Music by the Municipal Band of Zacoalco de Torres,
Jalisco
These cultural activities are all free and take place in the main plaza of San
Juan Cosala. In addition, there are daily religious processions at approximately
6 pm down Calle Porfirio Diaz (the main street of San Juan). The San Juan
Bautista Day celebrations culminate on Sunday night with a fireworks castillo
between 10-11 pm.
Do come and join in this annual celebration. Have an early dinner at Viva Mexico
before the entertainment or you can buy food and drinks from the many vendors
that are set up in the Plaza. But remember this is Mexico and all times listed
above are approximate.
