I have fumigated twice in the last couple of months but had live scorpions this morning. Maybe they are getting resistent to the latest chemicals which I hate to use anyway. Suggestions please?

You can try getting a cat. Klein Max the German farm tiger is the best scorpion killer I've ever seen. He kills them, but avoids getting stung himself. No, I do not rent him out. I've heard other people say their cats kill scorpions too. However, not all cats do that. Minke confronted one in the bathroom about 3 months ago and didn't know what to do with it (they don't them in her native country of Germany) so I had to kill it with the cat litter scoop.

Yes. Good idea. I used to get scorpions in the house every few months. Now that I have cats, I don't find scorpions in the house anymore.

It was recommended to us to plant Virginia Creeper ("seesoos" in phonetic Spanish) surrounding our property on the coast. It gives off a scent which scorpions don't like but we can't smell. Never had a scorpion problem unless you call four in six years a problem. ALL of our neighbours had scorpion problems.
Cats are great unless you're allergic to them...we both are.

My cats eat the few scorpions that wander in,( maybe they think they are toys LOL). I never spray any pesticides....... and seldom have any scorpions. Friends that regularly spray have more than I do. I see one or two per month or so......

Get large size rope with brissles, liquid nail it down on the thresholds all the way across all doorways, the scorpions don't like to cross it. Works for us, we have had 6 in 5 years.

Whether or not you like cats, they earn their keep by keeping house and yard free of all kinds of things. I got a couple from the shelter when there was a demolition next door and I was overrun with scorpions, mice and even a few rats (in the yard)

I had no idea how many scorpions were in the house until the cats moved in and forced them out into the open! I was at the shelter the other day and there are so many there now, ready and willing to keep your house clear of critters that seem to show up with the rainy season.

Thanks to those of you who support getting a cat or cats as scorpion killers. You still have 11 more days to adopt a cat for June (Adopt a Cat month) and the shelter does have an excellent selection. Gravy may still have his kittens too.

Adopt a scorpion killer today!

You can buy cynoff at the hardware stores. Spray all around the entries, window sills and also under the sinks where the pipes go through the walls. Also COVER your shower drain with a rubber round mat. You can buy them at the hardware stores. Scorpions and roaches come up out of the drain.
Cynoff may not be safe for pets. Check it out if you have one.

Anyone have a cat to rent? I'm only there in the winter and rent my place other times so having a full-time cat is not an option. Good suggestions I must say. Gracias

I was getting the seasonal influx of the little monsters so I had a company in to spray. Immediately after, I had more scorpions than ever! Don't know why, but they sprayed the exterior perimeter as well as inside. My cats do catch & kill some, but most are in hiding, only to come out at night to give me a cardiac arrest. I really hate to use any kind of sprays, I don't quite believe that something that kills bugs is totally harmless to all other creatures, and with 3 cats & 3 dogs plus myself always barefoot, it is not a comfortable thought.

Best way to dispatch the buggers is the bottom of a shoe! They splatter quite nicely.
