Does anyone have any information pros and cons regarding the Brisas de Chapala area; e.g. security, safety?

I know that they have now hired a security at the gate which has vastly improved things.

I enjoy living in Brisas. It is very quiet and peaceful. As far as I'm aware, there have been no further break ins or crime since the first of January.
Here are some differences I've found between living in Brisas and city living: No one rings your doorbell to ask for donations or hand outs. Also, acquaintances don't drop by unexpectedly since your house is not on the way to any place they might be going. You seldom see children or hear them at play. You see lots of cows and occasionally horses strolling by. There are not as many stray dogs. About half the people who live here are upper middle class Mexicans and the other half are gringos. Very little foot traffic except for the workmen, gardeners and maids walking to and from work.

I have a dear friend who has lived in Brisas for 10+ years. She says she wouldn't live anywhere else. The only downside is that she is car-centric ... she must drive to her activities. But, she loves the peace and quiet.

I've live in Brisas de Chapala for almost 8 years. Although we are selling our house it has nothing to do with the area. We have 24/7 Security Guard. Also we have a very active neighborhood watch. Our community is very close, everybody knows everybody and we watch for each other. Very quiet and pleasant place. As long as I'm in Mexico, this is the place I want to live. No vendors, no soliciting, no thru traffic, no stray dogs, great place for morning walks, clean air, mountain and lake view, 20 minutes to the airport and close enough to Chapala for shopping. If you want to get acquainted with the neighborhood, let me know
