Gee, Spencer, you mean we can actually have an input into the laws? What a great country?

Gracias para todo.

Input, well probably not but at least everybody will know their rights and the fines. There have been significant changes in the past year and increases in certain fines for motorcyclists, speeding, driving without your seatbelt and for no smog check sticker to name a few

Doesn't the smog check sticker only apply to Mexican plated cars?

Gracias.

Yes, only Mx plated cars.

However... the law also says that non Jalisco plated cars where the owners live here for 6 months or more are required to compyl with the state law.

Aha! Thanks, Spencer. Guess there might be a run on the smog-check clinics today. We haven't bothered to get a new one but will do so now.

You must have your car smog checked and a new sticker each year on or before the month that corresponds to the last digit of your license plate

Month Ending Plate Digit Month Ending Plate Digit
January 1 July 6
February 2 August 7
March 3 September 8
April 4 October 9

Great job, Spencer. Many thanks. But I am unable to copy, print or save the document. When I try, I get the message that the document is encrypted and requires a password to continue the operation. Any suggestions?

What a messy, redundant, pile of laws. I just read it al. whew!!l It is interesting that some things are subject to HUGE fines, such as running a red light. but if the light is not lit, they can still stop you. One day at one of the lights near Superlake, when they were brand new, and the light was probably burned out, I was stopped for running the nonexistent "red light". I had fully stopped, but there was no other traffic to determine whether the light was red or green. I talked it over with one of our motorcycle cops, and politely showed him that I would take a movie right then, and go with the movie to protest the fine. He changed his mind.
