Hi Folks,

I have been recuperating for the last two months and have been out of commission, but am now feeling much better and can walk almost normal again.

I want to remind our wonderful community here at Lakeside of the monthly Food Drive on the third Thursday of each month at the Riberas Shelter. As I have said in the past this Food Drive is open to ALL Animal rescue organizations in our area. Any group that you want to puchase food for can be done at the monthly Drive or at ANY other day during the month.

I had in mind to make it as convenient as possible for the community to help our homeless animals at Lakeside. All one has to do is to buy the food and let Geffeory or his staff know for which group the food is for. The purchaser should inform their choice of rescue group that there is a paid food purchase waiting for them at the Riberas Shelter.

Please do what you can for the less fortunate animals here during these hard times. There are so many to feed and care for, and our local rescue groups need as much help as you can give them.

You could always sponsor a dog/cat from home by purchasing their food for a month. Maybe some of the local rescue groups could post a few pictures a month of some of their dog/cats so that the readers could see them and possibly food sponsor one. Yes, I know some of them have websites, but lets make it even more convenient for people to see some of the animals here on Chapala.com and Inside Lakeside. The more exposure these little ones have the better for them.

These are hard times I know, but anything you can do to help the rescue groups here would be a blessing.

Thank you to all

Dottie/ABC

With all respect, I would say, if you want to donate to any particular group, do it directly to them, because I'm not sure the support will pass trough Geffeory...

Or if you do, let the group you want to support know that you did it.

Good luck.

With all respect, I am not sure what you are implying. I can assure you that when a purchase is made for a certain rescue group that purchase is held for them until they pick it up. I have said over and over again in my advertising "The purchaser should inform their choice of rescue group that there is a paid food purchase waiting for them at the Riberas Shelter". The Shelter nor ABC makes the decision as to where the purchases go, unless of course the purchaser gives us that option.

Please, we (the Shelter and ABC) are trying to help feed the animals and are not playing politics or favoring any one rescue group. The goal is to help the animals only. We appreciate the genorosity and kindness of the many people that have purchased food.

Thank you

The pet food drive occurred this past Thursday. There were donations made to : Gudren Jones/ “ The Ranch” , the feral cat colony group and Anita’s Animals.
The volunteers who were there during this month’s event, AGAIN, like the previous months,
made sure that the donated food got directed to the designated rescue group that the donor person indicated for their purchase.
In fact on a few occasions, the food was delivered by one of the volunteers.

As has been stated each time this event has occurred [ info posted both on this webboard notice
and in the Guad Reporter notice ] , stating that when a person buys food for a designated rescue group, that donor person is to notify that rescue group that purchased food needs to be picked up.
This arrangement was set up so Geoffrey did not have the added work of notifying the rescue groups – the donor was to do the rescue group contact.
Geoffrey at the Shelter has kindly held the food till picked up.

I have been at each of these pet food drives, and am not aware that there has been a problem about getting food to the designated groups.
Could you give some specifics of some problem you believe occurred ?

I'm glad is been done in that way. I will not tell you anything about the "Animal Shelter" but I can assure you that they have a foggy history... but as I ever say, the main goal is help animals, but HELP and be sure the help is going to the right place. ;)

Congratulations on this effort to help animals... I'm always doing my part but in silence.

The above attacks are really out of line. There are many heroes, Geoffrey, Anita, Gudrun, Dr. Pepe, Etc. are but a few. Those who adopt an abandoned pet are also heroes. Sadly there isn't enough to go around and a few, start getting angry when they perceive some of the heroes are receiving more than their favorite hero.

Let's forget about this anger and stop attacking others. Rather, let's think of the animals. When you were attacking others in the past, some of us got angry, and stopped helping as much. Whomever you are, you are AGAIN doing much more harm than good. Please stop, and start using your energy positively to help the animals.

And while you're at it, why aren't you posting under your real name? Maybe if we knew who it was, we would better understand your motives. But then again that might not be in your best interests.

The OP made it crystal clear how the whole thing works. Obviously the poster didn't read it very well. My first reaction on reading the attack posting was "Troll".

Sad as it is, the certain few that are attacking will not stop. How this helps, I don't know. But for those few we have many that do want to help, and to those we are grateful.

All we ask is that you do not forget our animals during these hard times.
