He was fired for violating his employment contract, not for working at home.

This seems more of an article about a lying employee who tried to deceive his company in every possible way. The fact that he was caught...then appealed and was refused re-instatement...shows that Canada still has some values.

I do not understand what is going on about Mexico...the tv broadcaster do not want to sell the signal in Mexico. I tried to get the american dish and they told me that they do not sell the service to Mexico.

I work for several companies in the US. Most don't care just as long as the work gets done.

I keep a US address and a US bank account. Some direct deposit to my account, some pay by PayPal.

Because they don't have the rights for the programs in Mexico. You can't buy dish in Canada LEGALLY either. In other
words they have no right to sell you a US signal in Mexico. This has nothing to do with recieving the signal just its legality.
If you ask dish for example to sell you a box and signal in Mexico of course they are going to say no. It would be illigal
for them to KNOWINGLY sell you the signal in Mexico.

Go to one of the satellite dealers and they will set you up with Dish USA.

This thread is about a person being fired for violating his employment contract, not about getting Dish in Mexico.

I work from home in Mexico. My employers know.....and I think they're happy because they know that if I quit my job then I have to move back to get another job. No turnover from me, which makes them feel very secure.

A couple of them do turn a blind eye to my location. Others know and don't care.

I had a guy that worked for me once that was tattoed all over. He was scary looking. But, he was a scrounger. He could find anything that I needed and do it in a heartbeat. Totally invaluable. You just had to keep him out of sight of the customers.

Most of what I do is pretty specialized. I produce, they pay, we pretend that I live in TX. Everybody lives happily ever after.....

I hope he at least had working papers for the work he was doing in Mexico. If not, there are more than a few gringos that have found out they were persona non grata when Mexican officials learned of their illegal working. We know of one well-known entertainer at Lakeside who says to the best of his knowledge he is the only one with papers to work. While he says the authorities do not waste time looking for these violations it's all they need if someone has a grudge against you and reports you to migracion. Either get legal or stay safely under the radar.

I also work from home. Most of my clients are back 'home' in South Africa, and they don't care where I am in the world. I do want to stay in Mexico though.. so I have to sort out my visa and soon :)
