I am asking this for several friends who are all having problems. Is anyone else having problems connecting to the Kindle store using WiFi? This just stopped working about a week and a half ago.

I connect the the kindle store via 3G - no problem - but you are asking about wifi NOT 3G? http://www.pcworld.c...g_and_wifi.html.

I just tried it and got in no problem. Silly question - do you have the international version? And are you in a location where you CAN connect? I recently tried to get into the store when I was in Costa Rica, and it did not work there.

I had this problem at one time. This is what I did:

From the Settings screen:
311 switch wireless networks
411 view radio info

Soft reset: fromt the Settings menu - reset
Hard reset: unplugged / press on/off 30+ seconds, wait

Yes, my husband and I both were having problems for the last few days. I ordered 3 new books and couldn't connect to wireless to get them. I was on the fone for 3 hours yesterday with the technical people at Amazon. He said I had an older version of kindle and had to do 7 new updates. Then he had me switch providers. My kindle now works but my husband's doesn't. Guess we will have to go thru the updates all again for his.

OT  but, when I had a problem with mine, the Amazon Cust Service was awesome --  don't hesitate to call .

As an aside, never hurts to REBOOT anything that is wireless when there is a connection problem.

I had the same problem with my kindle and I think the problem is with the modem I did solve it with help and a device from cisco that makes the wifi a much stronger signal no problems for 3 months now. I was told the modems from telmex suck
Hope this helps

I've never turned the wireless on. I download everything as a torrent, run it thru Calibre and download with a cable.

I gave up on wifi, and just plug the Kindle cord into my computer and the other end into my Kiindle. Works great.

I just use my WiFi thru Telmex modem, the same one I use for internet connection. Seems a lot of people are having problems all of a sudden, but I just ordered some books and had no problem whatsoever. I do not think Kindle customer service understands the connection problems down here. Check with Telmex customer service and they will show you how to set up WiFi thru your regular modem.

These problems have nothing to do with the Kindle itself. The many times I've been called to help, it's been a lack of understanding on the part of the user.

Well stated, Helper Guy! I have found Kindle support at Amazon unbelievably patient and helpful. I am one of
those non-technos with very limited understanding of names of parts, etc. but they have been able to help me
and were really nice about it.
