On Lopez Cotilla #299, north side and just west of Cinco de Mayo, is an Electrodomestico & Refrigeration Camarena, which does repairs. English is spoken.

Would "small appliance" repair include a fan? This one is a pretty powerful Honeywell blower that we brought with us from the U.S. The thing moves some serious air. Smelled some plastic frying inside it the other night. Dunno if the motor burned out or what. Wonder if it's worth taking anywhere to see if it's fixable, or if it's destined for the landfill. Anybody have a suggestion?

We had a table fan repaired at the shop in Ajijic, one block above the carretera on Colon. They've also fixed a toaster and a food processor for us....all still work after 3-4 years since the repair, and cost was very reasonable. Drop it off, then he'll call you with his price before he does the repair.

Generally in Mexico repairs to electronic items are reasonable - because there are a fair amount of people who do the repairs. Unlike in the US where we get a new toaster over when the old one is broken, here they get them repaired. If this is a high quality fan it's worth a try and most repairs are reasonable in price. I've had microwaves, stereos, DVD players and all sorts of things fixed at a fraction of the cost of buying a new one.

the place on Colon - twice repaired a fan, that worked for 1 day , then stopped. 2 different fans.
