The transit office is here in Chapala, They are on Dellahgo about 400 block. They should give the required information
to get a license in this state.

thanx, but the state is the same.....i'm trying to clarify if there is anyway around having to return to the initial point of registration to
make things current. i'm sure mailing is not an option

Vehicle registration is a state issue. Since it's registered in this state, I don't know why you wouldn't be able to renew it locally. The only glitch I could think of is if your current registration reflects a different address in a different municipio. Then there might be some kind of issue. Who knows. Does your vehicle registration reflect the address you have here? Or is it an address at the beach? Even then, I would think you'd be able to renew and change that information by bringing your comprobante de domicilio (CFE bill, Telmex bill, other supporting docs, the usual horseradish).
The vehicle database is pretty advanced Jalisco. I renewed a friend's registration simply by walking into the office in Chapala and giving them the license plate number.
